Frequently Asked Questions ?

You've Got Questions, U-Sold It has Answers!

How long will my item be listed for sale on eBay?

Top of page

U-Sold It will typically run your auction for seven days to ensure maximum exposure on eBay. We try to start all listings on a Sunday so that the auction will end on the following Sunday. This will ensure that the weekend eBay shoppers see your item. We are able to do auctions that run as short as 1 day when time is a major constraint (i.e. event tickets, etc.)
How do I know what price to sell my stuff for?

Top of page

Contact U-Sold It with the item description and photographs, if available, and U-Sold It's staff will do some quick research to help you set a price for your item. All items must be legal for sale on eBay and must be within either UPS weight and size guidelines or United States Postal Service shipment guidelines.
What are the time spans that an auction can run?

Top of page

When you list your item, you'll have a choice between a 1-, 3-, 5-, 7-, or 10-day duration. There is an additional $0.40 charge for running a 10-day listing.
Can I set the minimum price I will sell my item for?

Top of page

Yes you can. If you have a price you believe your item should be listed at, U-Sold It can start the opening price at that price. There is an additional $ 2.00 fee for a "Reserved Price" auction.  Please be advised that a "higher" opening price (we usually start items at $ 9.99 or less) can limit or alienate potential bidders. Remember, people like to feel like they are getting a deal on the items they purchase.
Can I upgrade my listing to potentially attract more attention?

Top of page

Always. Click here to see a short description of upgrade features and there cost. Should you choose any of these upgrades for your listing, the cost will be deducted from your items final selling price. And as always, you will only be charged the same figure that eBay charges U-Sold It.
Can my item be sold on eBay?

Top of page

Generally, yes but there are rules that must be met. Click here to see a listing of the items eBay considers prohibited, questionable or potentially infringing (copyright & trademark).
When will I get paid?

Top of page

Usually your check will arrive in 30-45 days from the time we receive your item. Sooner if the transaction is competed quickly by the buyer. Please note that winning bidders who delay in paying your items will cause delays in U-Sold It's ability to send you your check. In extremely rare instances a winning bidder may not pay for your item. In this case we will, with your consent, make an offer to the next highest bidder or re-list your item for free. Your check amount and timing will be based upon completion of this new auction.
How does U-Sold It earn its commission?

Top of page

Like any good business, U-Sold It earns a commission on the items that we sell. This fee is used to cover the costs of photography, listing, payment collection, customer service with potential buyers, packing and shipping supplies. U-Sold It deducts our commission, all eBay fees and any electronic payment processing fees before sending you a check. Click here to see our Commission schedule.
Who is responsible for shipping charges?

Top of page

The seller never pays these fees unless negotiated beforehand with the buyer. The buyer, on top of the purchase price of your item, will pay this as an extra fee. This is one less cost that would be incurred by you, the seller. Whenever possible U-Sold It will ship items with a Delivery Confirmation notice so that we can track package deliveries.
What if my item doesn't sell?

Top of page

You will be notified immediately if your item does not sell. You will then be given 3 choices as what to do next.
    1. You can pick your item up within 10 days of auction close *, OR
    2. You may RELIST (for free) the item for sale again,
OR
    3. Have U-Sold It donate the item to charity.

* Any item not picked within 10 days of auction close will be considered abandoned and become the property of U-Sold It.
Do I have to sell if I don't get a good price?

Top of page

As a general rule, YES. U-Sold It is entering into a contract with the winning buyer for the completion of the transaction and is therefore obligated to sell your item. In order to guarantee that your item sells for at least the price you want to get, the auction must begin with a RESERVE PRICE set. If your item does not reach its reserve price, then you are not obligated to sell to the highest bidder. Using this reserve price feature does add an additional cost to your listing fee.
